Brian Moynihan
Brian Moynihan, MBA | MSIS | MA is the Director of AI and Automation Projects at Duke University, working for the Vice Provost for Administration, Finance, and HR to design and deliver a portfolio of AI and automation initiatives across HR, payroll, finance, and core business processes.
In this role, Brian focuses on connecting enterprise systems, reducing manual drudgery, and creating space for staff to focus on higher-value work, all while keeping humans firmly in the loop. His work emphasizes cross-organizational coordination, responsible use of AI, and building a thriving ecosystem rather than isolated pilots.
Brian is the author of AI Culture Shift: Frameworks to Elevate People and Transform Organizations, which introduces the SHOT framework (Strategy, Humans, Operations, Tactics) as a practical guide for leaders. He is also a co-founder of the Research Triangle Park (RTP) chapter of the Applied AI Association, helping build community among practitioners and leaders in the region.
