Dena Guvetis

Dena Guvetis is the Executive Director of American Underground, where she leads one of the Triangle’s most established entrepreneurial communities fueling regional innovation and growth.

A nearly 40-year resident of the Triangle, Dena is passionate about how the region grows with intention and in community. Her work sits at the intersection of entrepreneurship, economic development, and ecosystem building.

Dena brings a background in nonprofit leadership both locally and internationally, along with experience in economic development and regional growth strategy. She has also worked directly supporting early-stage companies as they built revenue, partnerships, and market traction.

Throughout her career, she has worked alongside founders, operators, and civic leaders to strengthen connections between talent, capital, and opportunity.

Dena believes community is the true infrastructure of innovation.
